The power that trips have to refocus things in life always amazes me. The moment you leave your daily routine, thoughts about family seems to always come up first. The love for those that you leave behind contrasted with the energy, discovery, growth ... and the risks of what lies ahead is always interesting.
Colombia is a place that has held an interesting spell on me since the last time I visited. Incredible natural beauty (mountains, lakes, history, weather) combined with the hospitality, openness and good nature of its people certainly makes Colombia a unique and special place. No surprises when some surveys classify the people of Colombia as the happiest in the world ... or is there something else you need to smoke to get there? : )
But wait, we are not in Cali yet? A delay in Dallas made us miss our connection so we ended up in South Beach (Miami) instead ... Oh well, we are on vacation already so we are just chilling and enjoying it.
